Life is full of surprises. 

Much of our time is spent trying to control what happens 

and to understand how things work. 

When we practice "Don't Know," 

instead of thinking - or hoping-that we have the answers, 

we stay alert to each unfolding moment as a unique experience. 

In this way we bring a freshness to each moment...

which helps us to stay awake to the magic of life.

That's a clip I read from a book of mine 

shortly after sinking in to some serious discomfort with these two ladies in the painting process,

and allowing that discomfort to lead me down a road 

totally different from where I expected to go.

And you know what?

I love them more than I ever loved my expectation of the result.
