Within My Newest Love Affair

I've begun a new love affair.

You may have noticed.

Each time I meet my new love,

my heart thumps,

the intensity rises to meet tender lightness within,

and I get butterflies.

Each encounter is a little different.

Showing me the brightest most amazing parts of myself,

the most vulnerable and raw and real,

and making me want to be the best me I can be.

With each stroke

and each whisper,

I listen.

And when our eyes finally flitter up out of flirtatious discovery to meet,

I know I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be.

Succumbing,

I overflow into each moment.

And when spent,

I can already sense the scent of anticipation

rising up within

for the way this love touches me so.

I am deep in the tender arms
