Abstract Portrait Study | Something From The Studio 5 (new video)

In this video, I share a peek at an abstract figure/portrait study in gouache, started on a gold acrylic backdrop (because I was waiting on my gold gesso), with thoughts on the creative process, how I'm trying to challenge myself with the study, and what I'm exploring visually along the way.

This was a fun and insightful painting to work through on many levels for me - I hope you enjoy...

main materials used: neocolor II wax crayons, gesso, liquitex gold paint, reeves gouache paints
