To be fully human is to be wild. Wild is the strange pull and whispering wisdom. It’s the gentle nudge and the forceful ache. It is your truth, passed down from the ancients, and the very stream of life in your blood. Wild is the soul where passion and creativity reside, and the quickening of your heart. Wild is what is real, and wild is your home."

~ Victoria Erickson

To know yourself well enough to be wild and on the edge requires a distinct amount of solitude, I find - to let your own eyes adjust to the mystery that is yours to dwell in....

Recently, I've also been contemplating the definition of Wild shared in this amazing documentary (TERRA, over on netflix).

TERRA tells the story of life.... From the first lichen to the gigantic forests, monkeys of the jungle to the mythic animals of the savannah. Over barely 10,000 years, life on Earth has been profoundly affected by the incredible development of humanity. But mankind is now increasingly isolated. How have our relations with other living beings changed so much? What do we still see, or notice, of the living world around us? TERRA is a journey through the history of life forms, a quest for the animal within us. For true humanity.

TERRA is not a wildlife documentary. Nor is it a militant investigative documentary. TERRA is an essay, in the literary sense, on the human species and its relationship with other living beings."

It's a movie that is both exquisitely beautiful and, at times, hard to take in for the truth it tells.

It also synced up nicely with my creative practice this month as I prepare lessons for ORIGIN.
